¨ Tokaido Gi Sale at National Tournament JKA of New Mexico is now an authorized distributor for Tokaido Gis. Gis will be on sale for a special introductory price at the 2009 Camp National Tournament. Go to registration room for details. Cash or check only (no credit cards, no shipping)
May 2009 ¨ Individual Roll Call Listing has been posted. The individuals on this list gave support to JKA/WF America Camp & National Tournament by placing their names on the list. Roll Call List April 2009 ¨ There will be no qualification testing at the 2009 Camp in Santa Fe. JKA Headquarters in Japan has disallowed the qualification testing. They say that countries cannot hold their own qualification exams unless an examiner from the JKA HQ Japan dojo is there. There WILL be Dan testing as scheduled. February 2009 ¨ Urgent News from JKA HQ Japan ¨ A Judge Seminar and Practical Clinic will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico this summer. This special event will take place on June 12th at the 2009 JKA/WF America Training Camp. Designed to foster members who are interested in achieving a judge qualification in the future, the course also serves as a renewal requirement for those already holding a judge qualification. Details can be found on page 7 of the registration book. All black belts are encouraged to attend.
¨ Please note that any Qualification obtained through JKA/WF America is registered with JKA Japan and is internationally recognized by JKA.
¨ Individual Roll Call listing will be offered in the National Tournament Program In addition to having the traditional ad space in the program for dojos and businesses, we have added an Individual Roll Call List. This is an opportunity for individual members to get their name and rank listed in the program catalogue for $10. The list will also be posted on the JKA/WF America website for a period of time. November 2008 ¨ News from JKA Headquarters regarding JKA Diary October 2008 ¨ Dan & Qualification Results from National Tournament 2008 June/July 2008- ¨ Dan/Qualification testing results from National Camp ¨ Letter from JKA Japan regarding Mexico ¨ Photos from 2008 National Camp—More added 7/9/2008 - March 2008 - All JKA/WF America members that are brown or black belt must obtain a JKA Passport. Passports must be presented and stamped at every JKA/WF event including exams, clinics, and tournaments both locally and nationally. You can obtain passports through your regional office. JKA/WF America passport is valid for life, however it must be renewed annually. Individuals must send their annual renewal to their Regional office. Regions should then send them to the JKA/WF America administrative office. In return the administrative office will send to the regional offices the appropriate renewal stickers. Renewals will begin in 2009. Members who allow their passports to expire will have to purchase a new passport. Members who lose their passport will have to purchase a new one from their region.

Two Regional Meeting Announced- March 2008 There will be a meeting for all regional directors during the 2008 June National Camp in Santa Fe, New Mexico. July 8, 2007 - three special 50th Anniversary President's Awards were given. Two of those awards went to JKA/WF's own Master Koyama and Master Takashina. There were also six special technique awards for age 60 and above. Our organization's Master Mikami was one of those six. |
